The Cameron Lions Club continues to invest proceeds of our annual Fishing Festival in the future of Cameron Parish by supporting the activities and education of our youth, including the St. Nicholas Center for Children, Kannon's Christmas, the Cameron Parish Junior Livestock Show, the Louisiana Lions Camp for children with physical and/or medical challenges, as well as the mission of the International Lions Club to help prevent blindness and other vision and hearing issues in our communities and throughout the world, and various civic projects and events that help promote our parish and its citizens.
While our members spend countless volunteer hours in many of these endeavors, the financial support of our sponsors has resulted in highly successful festivals that have made possible generous donations to a variety of important activities. Since 2012, $280,921.17 has been spent on the charitable causes that the Cameron Lions Club supports. Additionally, we not only encourage our schools, churches and non-profit organizations to set up booths and raise funds at the Cameron Fishing Festival, we also pay a stipend to each of these groups for their participation.
In May, $29,800 was awarded to our Cameron Parish youth in scholarships, academic and service awards. And, as is done annually, The Cameron Lions Club will prepare and serve a fish fry with all the trimmings to the special needs’ campers, their counselors and volunteers at the Louisiana Lions Camp near Leesville, a tradition now in its fifth year.
Again, it is the support of generous, like-minded sponsors who make our endeavors possible. Please consider the 16thAnnual Cameron Lions Club Fishing Festival as a project that you feel you can support. Links to our "Sponsorship Levels" and "Sponsorship Commitment Form" are provided below.
We have continued to expand our footprint by partnering with the Community Foundation of Southwest Louisiana, in a quest to improve the quality of lives in our communities. This partnership also provides for online donations, timely receipt of tax documentation for your donation, and a substantial return on the investment of our charitable funds to better serve others.
We invite you to join us at our Annual Captain’s Night for a complimentary meal, music, door prizes and reduced rates on fishing tickets on Thursday, July 25, 2019, at 6:00 pm, at the new location of the Cameron Fishing Festival – Grand Chenier Park, 142 Jim Bonsall Road, Grand Chenier, Lousiana, 70643.
